The lads started this one at lightening pace with some crisp passing, cutting the opponents open after only 2 minutes with Bakry, Jamie, Luke and Kyle all involved to set Aaron O away to score with a magnificent finish into the left corner.
Defensively the Saints were solid with Ryan Fay and Ciaran Connolly at the back whilst Nurdin kept the opposition defenders busy. The Saints made it 2-0 on 9 minutes. A well worked team move ended with Kyle Staunton to finish with aplomb which maintains his goal a game since pre season. Park Celtic responded and started to gain a foothold on the game. The visitors pulled a goal back on 22 minutes with a good finish from a well worked corner. Aaron Mullins and new boys, Alex Lynch and Adam McNulty joined the fray and helped the Saints up a gear. On 27 minutes, Captain, Ryan Fay made it 3-1 firing in an unstoppable rebound from a free kick.
Great credit to the visitors who came out with all guns blazing in the 2nd half. Jason Quintilla was forced into producing two fantastic saves within minutes of the restart. The Saints goalkeeper could do little as Celtic grabbed two goals in quick succession to level proceedings. The pick of the two was a superb free kick that found the back of the net.
The saints didn't let the heads drop and got back on the ball to settle things down. Both sides went close to taking the lead only to be denied by some fine saves. The next goal was vital and it was the Saints who got a foothold on the game. Adam restored the lead with a top class finish on 56 minutes.
In the dying minutes Nurdin rounded the keeper only to see his effort rebound, debutante Alex was the quickest to react and he slotted the ball home to seal the win.
The boys were delighted and really enjoyed a first win in the second tier of DDSL Sunday. A big thanks to Park Celtic for a great game. Well done to the referee who had a very solid game.
