New Signings Announced
The Saints will of course be, for the first time in the clubs history, be playing in the Premier Division of the Leinster Senior League, having taken Division 1 by storm last season.
Mochta's boss McCarthy, welcomes three players from Tolka Rovers; Alan McDermott, Niall O'Reilly and Eamon Moynihan.
33 year old defender, McDermott add's plenty of strength and experience to the Saints backline, an impressive CV to say the least, having had spells at Shelbourne, Newry, Dundalk, Kildare County and as a 16 year old, an apprentice at Manchester United.
Also adding to defence, 28 year old O'Reilly similarly brings a wealth of experience to Porterstown, prior to his days at Tolka, Niall played for Bohemians, Shelbourne, Athone Town and Longford Town.
Eamon Moynihan completes the trio of players that have been signed from the side who knocked the Saints out of the FAI Intermediate Cup last season at the semi final stage, during his time with Rovers, the midfielder was part of the side that reached the third round of the FAI Senior Cup.
Tolka Rovers weren't the only ones to lose players to Mochta's for the coming season, Brian has also signed 32 year old forward Gareth Cooney from Bluebell. Gareth previous to that takes experience from spending time at Bohemians, Kildare County and Kilkenny City.
Other additions to the club include Josh Douglas from Bangor Celtic and Ian Croft from Dublin 15 rivals, Verona.
Finally adding to the playing personnel, 27 year old striker/centre forward, Aidan Downes.
Downes quite like the other signings has a wealth of experience playing the beautiful game, he joins the Saints from the land down under where he had been playing with Mornington Soccer Club, Victoria, Australia.
Playing in the Zagames Mens State League 1 South East league, Downes netted 17 goals during his time there.
Impressive enough as that might be, Downes will also be a familiar name and face to Airtricity League fans as he's played for both Bohemians, where he has a Europa League appearance under his belt
He also brings time with Yeovil Town, making 34 League one appearances, he's also featured in the FA Cup and League Cup.
Manager Brian McCarthy will also have a new member of his coaching staff in the dugout, Saints welcome Dave Goodall to the club, he'll be working alongside existing keepers Warren Fee and Darren McGarry.
