LSL Division 1
Dublin Bus started the game the brighter and spurned two good chances before Crowe opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Crowe pounced on a mistake and his beautiful delicate chip sailed over the goalkeeper into the roof of the net. Crowe made it 2-0 on 20 minutes with a powerful header from Nathan Brown's magnificent delivery. Brown's long range delivery was inch perfect for Crowe to head home and leave the goalkeeper with no chance.
Dublin Bus struck the top of the crossbar from a free kick in the 23rd minute, although Warren Fee had it covered. Crowe scored his hat trick in the 36th minute when he was on the end of Lee Dixon's free kick. Dixon's free kick was into the space at the near post and Crowe lost his marker to complete his hat trick. Two minutes later, Warren Fee saved a penalty diving to his left to keep out Brian Hyland's spot kick. The penalty looked harsh, although a strong penalty appeal for the visitors was turned down earlier in the game for hand ball. Warren Fee is in excellent form and playing with plenty of confidence. Paul McCullagh went close to getting on the score sheet, his glorious chip hit the crossbar just before the break.
Dublin Bus pulled a goal back in the 51st minute when Pavel Sulgan poked the ball home at the near post. The second half was scrappy and untidy, Fee made a splendid save in the 75th minute, as the visitors threw caution to the wind, and committed plenty of players forward. David Somers was denied his 22nd goal of the season, when his shot from distance hit the crossbar. Graham Doyle ensured it would be a nervy last few minutes, with an emphatic finish into the corner of the net. The Saints held on to win the massive three points and bounce back from last week's cup defeat.
The only league defeat was on the 2nd of November. It's an incredible run of results in the league. Seven league games to play.
